Summer Solstice

7 mindful strategies to celebrate the summer solstice for all ages

For many of us educators, summertime means vacation, some much-deserved time off, and maybe even a trip to the water. It can be a season associated with strong core memories for those of us with children: the much-anticipated ice cream truck music, the spray of sea water, and the late nights with friends and family.

The summer solstice officially marks the beginning of summer and is the longest stretch of daylight in the year. Those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere will experience the summer solstice on June 21 this year.

Honored throughout the world with celebrations and rituals, the summer solstice is the perfect time to get present, let the sunshine in, and make lasting memories with loved ones.

In celebration of summer solstice, here are 7 mindful activities for you to enjoy on your own or to share with your loved ones, including:

  • 2 yoga activities
  • 2 mindful crafts
  • 1 mindful mocktail recipe
