DAY 1 | Tuesday, June 9 at 4-5:15pm PT | 7-8:15pm ET
Release: Human Intelligence to Let Go of the School Year & Reclaim Your Vitality in the Age of AI
After a school year filled with constant demands and nonstop giving, you are probably carrying more than you realize. For many educators, summer brings a complicated mix of relief, exhaustion, and emotional release. The body doesn’t instantly know how to relax after months of operating in survival mode, which is why so many teachers experience emotional flooding, fatigue, or even getting sick once school ends.
This powerful opening keynote is designed to help you process and release the school year through the five essential layers of Human Intelligence: cognitive, emotional, somatic, relational, and universal.
Led by Co-Founders Dr. Ilana Nankin and Michael Fenchel, this session will help educators understand the nervous system science behind stress and recovery, process emotions, reconnect with themselves beyond productivity and performance, and step into summer feeling lighter, calmer, and more human again.
You’ll leave this keynote ready to:
🦸♀️ Understand the five essential layers of Human Intelligence and how they shape your teaching and your life
🧠 Reflect on how the school year impacted you across your five layers of being: cognitive, emotional, somatic, relational, and universal
🌊 Process and release the stress, exhaustion, overwhelm, and weight you’ve been carrying
❤️ Embody practices to regulate your mind and nervous system and reconnect with yourself
⚡ Step into summer feeling lighter, clearer, calmer, and more grounded in your humanity
Because your humanity isn’t something to overcome. It’s your greatest superpower.

DAY 2 | Wednesday, June 10 at 4-5:15pm PT | 7-8:15pm ET
Ignite: Reawaken Your Creativity, Purpose, & Inner Spark
Summer is where possibility comes back online. After months of operating on deadlines, routines, and survival mode, many educators find themselves craving space to think differently, dream again, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that feel most alive.
This energizing workshop is designed to help you move beyond burnout and tap back into the cognitive and universal layers of Human Intelligence: your uniquely human abilities to imagine, innovate, adapt, create meaning, and connect to something larger than yourself.
Led by Co-Founder Michael Fenchel and Sam Levine, this uplifting experience blends evidence-based practices, creative reflection, and future-focused thinking to help educators reconnect with curiosity, rediscover inspiration, and strengthen the human skills that matter most in a rapidly changing world.
You’ll leave with:
🔥 Reawaken your passion and sense of possibility
🧠 Strengthen cognitive flexibility, innovative thinking, and adaptability
🌌 Reconnect with your values, purpose, and deeper “why”
🎨 Unlock practices that fuel imagination, inspiration, and meaningful growth
⚡ Step into the future with greater confidence, clarity, and creativity
The future needs educators who can adapt, imagine, and lead with purpose. Good thing those are human superpowers.

DAY 3 | Thursday, June 11 at 4-5:15pm PT | 7-8:15pm ET
Radiate: Supercharge Your Joy, Connection, & Wholeness
Joy changes us. Connection heals us. And the energy we carry impacts every relationship, classroom, and community we’re part of.
This heart-centered grand finale explores the emotional and relational layers of Human Intelligence: the uniquely human abilities to build trust, cultivate belonging, communicate authentically, and create meaningful connections in an increasingly disconnected world.
Led by Dr. Ilana Nankin and Sam Levine, this uplifting session blends emotional intelligence practices, reflective experiences, relationship-centered classroom culture strategies, and meaningful conversation to help educators reconnect with the people, practices, and experiences that help us feel grounded, supported, energized, and fully alive.
You’ll learn:
☀️ Cultivate greater joy, authenticity, and emotional awareness
🫶 Strengthen connection, trust, and belonging in your relationships and classroom communities
💛 Practice emotional intelligence strategies that support empathy, communication, and resilience
⚡ Become more intentional about the energy and presence you bring into your life
🌎 Leave feeling inspired, connected, hopeful, and deeply human
The energy you carry shapes every classroom, conversation, and community you’re a part of. Let yours become a source of inspiration, trust, and possibility.

Founder & Co-CEO
Dr. Ilana Nankin — Founder and Co-CEO of Breathe for Change — is an award-winning entrepreneur, teacher educator, and former public school teacher. Ilana earned degrees in psychology and education from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her dissertation revealed the critical connection between educator well-being and student learning, and the transformative impact of wellness and social-emotional learning on classroom communities.
Inspired by her research, she founded Breathe for Change — a movement dedicated to bringing wellness, inspiration, and community to every educator and student in the world. As one of the lead professors of this Human Intelligence course, Ilana weaves her expertise in embodied awareness, social-emotional learning, and systemic well-being throughout the curriculum. Her leadership and vision ground the course’s theory of change: empowering educators to transform themselves, transform their teaching, and ultimately transform the way students learn. Ilana lives in San Francisco, and is also the proud mother of two precious daughters, Aliya and Zoe, and applies everything she knows from being a pre-k teacher to her role as a parent.

Co-Founder & Co-CEO
Michael Fenchel, Breathe for Change’s Co-founder and Co-CEO, is a transformative educator and social entrepreneur who has founded four mission-driven organizations at the intersection of education, well-being, and community-building. He brings over two decades of experience designing and leading programs that help individuals and communities develop the inner capacities needed to unleash their potential and foster meaningful impact. His work is grounded in a deep commitment to translating insight into action, supporting leaders in aligning personal purpose with collective transformation.
A lifelong learner of both science and spirit, Michael holds a degree in math and physics from the University of Michigan and has been a dedicated meditation practitioner for over 20 years. He is especially passionate about integrating rigorous analytical thinking with contemplative practice, creative expression, and embodied learning. Outside of work, he is an avid freestyle rapper, using improvisation and rhythm as a playful doorway into presence, creativity, and human connection–core elements of the Human Intelligence framework he brings to this course.

Faculty, Psychology and Leadership
Sam Levine is the Chief Product Officer at Breathe For Change, a member of the founding team, and a Professor of Psychology and Mindfulness. He began his career as an educator, first as an ESL teacher in the Middle East and later as a middle school science teacher in Washington, D.C. Sam holds a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University with a concentration in mind-body and spirituality practices. A longtime mindfulness practitioner, Sam integrates contemplative practice with modern psychological science to cultivate awareness, compassion, and resilience.
